The Strawberries are Ripening!

Mmmm, they are so sweet and juicy, too. Did you know you can throw a small handful of epsom salt into the strawberry patch and the plants will thank you for that extra little boost of growing power? They love the nutrients from the epsom salt. It helps set the blossoms, keeps the plants blooming more and the fruit tastes sweeter. Here is to the salt of the earth!

  1. Thanks for stopping by...I love your blog! What a great tip. I didn't know about the epsom salt...and I have a little strawberry patch that would benefit from some nutrients. Thanks and have a great day!

  2. My strawberries were dry root starts. I put them in a raised bed and by fall they filled the bed with runners. I actually had enough runners to start another bed on the other side of my yard.. However, no berries this year. Do strawberry plants produce fruit the first year? Maybe I needed to fertilize more often. I use fish fertilizer.
