All of the Weather of Spring

This has been the range of weather in the past 24 hours! Fog, sunshine, rain, clouds, rainbows!

Fog and rain in the early hours of the day. It was cold, wet, and white! In the stillness of the fog, Canada Geese could be heard honk, honk, honking.

The damp cloak lifted and there was sunshine and clouds! Everything was bright and warm and seemed to dry up instantly.

As evening came, there were thunderstorms along the ridgelines and rainbows showing all of the colors that couldn't be seen in the morning. It was a full day of springtime weather!

Garden Pizza on the BBQ

Mmmmmm, we were craving pizza, but it has been too hot to turn on the oven in the ole farm house, so the next best thing is the BBQ. We have fresh peppers, zucchini, onion, and basil on the pizza and it all came from the garden. The sky is the limit for your own garden pizza. Now that's Italian!!

Pasture Raised Pork

The pigs are nearing market weight and they are such funny, happy characters. The roam from field to field and from dirt bath to mud spa! When the temperatures soared over 105 degrees yesterday, they only wanted to lay in a cooling mud bath. Today the weather changed and they were ready to wander around in the pasture, eat to their hearts content, and play a few games of tag!

Pig Bath

The pigs are growing so fast and in the summer time heat, they LOVE a cool bath! Tim sprays them with a hose and as soon as the pigs hear the water, they run for the bath, the cool water, and then they roll in the mud. Yes, the mud! So don't confuse pig bath with clean pigs! It is just a cooler, happier, muddy pig!
