Baby Chicks
The baby chicks have started to arrive. We have the Rhode Island Reds here first and they sure are hungry! Frequent refills, plenty to drink, warm red heat lamp, near the toasty woodstove... Isn't that what we all want this late in the winter?! Happy March ~
Hi Annie, Yes we already have a few more barred rock chicks and we'll get some Americana or Easter Egg layers. We are also planning to get some meat chickens a little later in the spring. I have a student who's dad works at a dairy and brings home outdated cheese rounds for their chickens to eat on! The new blue cheese chicken feed! :-)
Are you getting several different kinds this year? We may do some meat birds again, as our freezer is running low.
ReplyDeleteWe definitely have enough layers - we'll have our 15 back, plus some extras.
