The iris's history is rich, going back to Ancient Greek times when the Greek Goddess Iris, was the messenger from the 'Eye of Heaven'. She traveled down the arc of the rainbow to earth and acted as the link between heaven and earth. Iris is the name that was given to the Goddess, the flower, and to the center of your eye. So, we each carry a piece of heaven with us. It is a sacred flower of elegant beauty just like The Maher Girls, past and present. Today is a celebration of our connection to family and loved ones: our mothers, sisters, aunts, daughters, and granddaughters. Here is to deep, rich dreams, and warm, lasting memories.
